Meredith Kay Manley

Meredith Kay Manley, 84, a life long Superior resident, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at home with family by her side.

She was born in Superior on November 26, 1938, the daughter of Theodore and Emma (Mosintine) Nelson.

Meredith graduated from the former East High School, in Superior, class of 1956. She went on to further her education, earning her master’s degree in nursing, and dedicated her life to the care of others as a registered nurse. She worked for many years with the Douglas County Home Health Department and was a member of the St. Luke’s Nurses Alumni Association.

Meredith was a member of the former First Methodist Church in Superior where she was a member of the women’s group for many years.

She was also a member of the Shrine Widows Group, the Old Time Travelers Group, the Merry Mates Homemakers, class of fifty years, and the Norwood Ladies Golf League. She especially enjoyed her time spent with the 8:30 AM swim and exercise group at the YMCA in Superior. Above all, Meredith was a loving mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her children, John (Karen) Manley, Fort Meyers, FL, David (Sharon) Manley, Superior, WI, Michelle (Timothy) Koenen, South Range, WI; grandchildren, Rebecca (Tony) Male, Keewatin, MN, Michael (Jill) Manley, Oliver, WI, Ashley (Joe) Dupay, Isanti, MN, Janelle Soar, Oliver, WI, Patrick (Jessica Dalpiaz) Koenen, South Range, WI, and Nicole (Taylor Agamaite) Koenen, Foxboro, WI; great-grandchildren, Aden, Logan, Brody, Myles, Adalyn, and Grace; and sister-in-law, Susan Manley, Superior.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tim Manley, her parents, and brother, Conrad Nelson.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 27, 2023, at Faith United Methodist Church, 1531 Hughitt Avenue in Superior, and will continue until the 1:00 PM Memorial Service with Rev. Cathy Hamblin officiating.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made in Meredith’s name to Shriners Children’s Hospital, PO Box 863765, Orlando, FL 32886 or to St. Mary’s Hospice Care c/o Essentia Health Foundation, 400 E. 3 rd Street, Duluth, MN 55805.
