Michael A. “Mike” Dufour, 74, Lake Nebagamon, WI, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center, Duluth, MN, surrounded by his loving family following a courageous and lengthy battle with Parkinsons Disease.
He was born on January 23, 1941 in Superior to Adrian and Jeanette (Sellwood) Dufour and has lived in Lake Nebagamon since 1970.
Mike married Dianne Beauto on August 27, 1966 and celebrated 48 years of marriage.
He attended WITI and was employed as a mechanic for Ryland Ford for over thirty years.
Mike had worked on the Douglas County Ambulance, was the fire chief for Lake Nebagamon and helped as the constable in Lake Nebagamon.
He was a member of the Northern Knights Car Club. He enjoyed dirt track racing, snowmobiling and ice fishing.
In addition to his wife Dianne, Mike is survived by one daughter Tamara (Dan Madsen) Dufour, Superior; Mikayla Madsen; special longtime best friends, Dan and Darlene Dulinski, Lake Nebagamon and several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Peter Dufour.
A Time of Remembrance and Celebration of Life will be from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Monday, March 2, 2015 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Lake Nebagamon Cemetery at a later date.
