Michael W. Anderson, AKA “Mike Shannon” died January 6, 2022, in Duluth, MN. He was born on March 13, 1944, in Ashland, WI.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army in July of 1961 and served three years. In 1960 he boxed with the Superior Amateur Boxing Association. In 1970 he was boxing professionally in several states, including, WI, MN, AZ and NV. While living in the Superior area, he was a conveyor man/deckhand for Great Lakes Shipping. Following that he was part owner of Courtesy Cab.
What kept Mike strong over the last few years was the love he had for his two grandchildren, Addison and Odin. He looked forward to the time spent with them.
He is survived by his grandchildren, Addison and Odin Anderson, Superior WI; sons, Eric and Leif Anderson, Superior, WI; sister, Linda (Richard) Taber, Superior, WI; brothers, Roger (Cleo) Anderson, Townsend, MT, and Greg (Deb) Saari of Benton City, WA; several nieces and nephews; and two very special friends, Cory Crist and Larry Dahl of Superior, WI.
Per Mike’s wishes, there will be no services held.
