Michael John Berg

Michael John Berg, 28, Duluth, MN, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2023. He was born the son of Tina Kmecik and James Berg on November 28, 1995 in Monticello, MN.

Michael was employed by Titanium Partners, as well as Town and Country Garages. He was a hard worker and loved fixing things. He got excited by any project that involved building or fixing.

Michael enjoyed watching football, cheering for the Vikings. His favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing, four wheeling, and playing sports. Most of all, he loved his son, Isaiah. Spending time with him was what he enjoyed more than anything.

He was a member of Hope City Church and enjoyed volunteering. He had a big heart that he carried on his sleeve. He will be missed and never forgotten by those who knew him.

He is survived by his parents, Tina Kmecik, Red Lake Falls, MN and Jim Berg, Superior, WI; his partner, Alexis Steltz and their son Isaiah, Duluth; sisters, Brittany Berg, Pinconning, MI, Alyssa Salk, Pinconning, MI, and Cassondra Kmecik, Thief River Falls, MN; nephews, Michael Rios, Noah Foco, Logan Foco, Liam Hess, and Parker Salk; nieces, Carlee Salk and Aubree Salk; and other loving family.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Carol and Don Kmecik, Maryann and Robert Berg; aunts, Cheryl Wheatley and Deanne Hildenbrand.

Visitation for Michael will begin at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 8, 2024 at Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue in Superior, and continue until his Memorial Service at 3:00 PM, Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci officiating.
