Michele Anne Dawson

Michele Anne Dawson passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in  Duluth, MN. She was born on September 30, 1955 in Ashland, WI,  the daughter of Walter and Mary (Dawson) Binkowski.

Michele was a self-employed accountant and tax preparer who worked out of Iron River, WI. She enjoyed helping others and served her community as a volunteer at the Rural Care and Share Food Shelf in Iron River and also as part of the Oulu Election Board. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.

Her love of family showed in her care and devotion to her children and grandchildren. Adventures with family was one of her favorite pastimes. Michele enjoyed gardening, tending bright and colorful flowers.

Michele is survived by her husband, Larry J. Kiggins; sons, Brian Howe and Michael (Nikki) Howe; stepson, Joe Kiggins; stepdaughter, Christy Lussier; grandchildren: Richard Kerby, Chris Silva, Alexis (Gene) Boudreaux, Natasha (Richard) Wyer, Tyler (Nicole) Williams, Emily Williams, Jaxon Howe and Peyton Howe; sisters Mary Lee Daoust and Deanna (Mark) Motel; sisters-in-law Gloria Hissa and Carol Binkowski; nieces-in-law Beede Speed and Sharon Albright; several nieces and nephews; and countless loved ones who adopted her as “Ma.”

She was preceded in death by her son Randy Howe; daughter Mista Dawson; brothers Jeff Binkowski and Dale Binkowski; and brother-in-law Chris Daoust.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to her family or to the charity of the giver’s choice.

Visitation begins at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 68105 S George Street in Iron River, and continues until the 12:00 Noon Mass of Christian Burial with Fr. Joji Boyapati as celebrant. A private family burial will be held at St. Michael Cemetery.
