“Mickey” Margot Kay Kornstad, 86, longtime resident of Lake Nebagamon, WI, died Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN. She was born in Superior, November 8, 1938, the daughter of Morley and Marjorie (Donovan) McFarlin.
Mickey was united in marriage to Richard Kornstad on July 6, 1974, and they recently celebrated fifty-one years of marriage before her passing.
Mickey worked as a cook at the grade school in Lake Nebagamon for many years. She enjoyed playing golf and once had a hole-in-one in Hammet, CA. In retirement, Mickey and Richard enjoyed their years as snowbirds spending winters at their condo in Mesa, AZ.
Mickey’s greatest joy was found in her devotion to her family as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her beloved husband, Richard; sons, Thomas (Yvonne), Bill (Shelly), and Tim Harvey; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, and her brother, Michael McFarlin, New Richmond, WI.
She is preceded in death by her son, Micael Harvey; brother, Morley McFarlin, and her parents.
Per Mickey’s wishes, no public services will be held.
