Mildred S. Kallinen

Mildred Sophia Kallinen, 90, longtime resident of Maple, WI, died peacefully Friday, August 6, 2021, at Brookdale Senior Living in Peoria, AZ. She was born May 9, 1931, in Moquah, WI, the daughter of John and Julia (Mamaty) Liska.

She graduated from Ondossagon High School in Ashland, WI.

Mildred was united in marriage to John Henry Kallinen, December 13, 1952, and they celebrated sixty-five years of marriage before his passing in 2018. Together they had two sons, and Mildred enjoyed her years spent as a loving wife and mother and worked at Northwestern High School for over twenty-nine years before retiring.

She is survived by her son, Dwight (Gillian) Kallinen; granddaughters, Denise and Michelle; great-grandsons, Sam and JoJo, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband; son, David; parents; brothers, Albert, John, and Edward Liska, and her sister, Lillian (Liska) Sechen.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Hope Lutheran Church, 2500 County Highway B, Brule, WI, and will continue until the 11:00 AM Memorial Service with Pastor Scott Stai officiating.

Burial will be in Pine Glade Cemetery.
