Muriel Rae Pleski

July 20, 1917 — April 17, 2010

Muriel Rae Pleski, 92, South Range, died Saturday, April 17, 2010 in the Middle River Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on July 20, 1917 in South Range, WI to Herman and Selma (Lien) Erickson.
She graduated from the former Central High School and went on to receive her degree in social work from UWS, graduating in 1975.
Muriel was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, the Douglas County Homemaker’s Club and the Norwood Women’s Golfer Association and enjoyed golfing until she was ninety years old. She was also a past member of the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department. She also enjoyed reading, knitting, sewing and was active with the neighborhood knitting group.
She was active as a 4-H leader for many years.
Muriel is survived by four daughters, Sally (Gil) Severson, South Range, WI, Sheron Ostrom, Memphis, TN, Sandy (Jim) Waletzko, South Range, Debi (Tom) Steiner, Winter, WI; two sons, Chuck (Della) Pleski, Foxboro, WI, Greg (Paula) Pleski, Merrill, WI; nineteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Muriel was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 1995; two brothers Clayton and Clyde Erickson and her parents.
Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM until the 11:30 Memorial Service on Friday, April 23, 2010 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home. Pastor Patrick Ziems of Zion Lutheran Church will officiate.
Inurnment will be in St. Francis Cemetery.
Muriel’s grandchildren will be recognized as honorary pallbearers.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Muriel Pleski Memorial Fund or the Salvation Army of Superior.
