Myron V. Knapp

Myron V. Knapp, 91, Iron River, WI resident, died Friday, July 5, 2019 at Middle River Health and Rehabilitation Center in South Range, WI. He was born at a family home on June 25, 1928 in Bayfield, WI to Vern and Elmira (Olson) Knapp.

He graduated from Iron River Columbia High School. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Myron married Dolores Nelson on September 10, 1949 and they would have celebrated seventy years of marriage this year. He was the V.P. of Marketing for CUNA Mutual Insurance Society in Madison, WI for many years. After his retirement, he moved to Iron River, WI and later Mesquite, NV where he was actively involved in the local Lutheran Church.

He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and golf. He also enjoyed traveling, and spending time with his many grandchildren.

Myron is survived by his wife, Dolores; daughter, Diane Moreau, Denver, CO; son, Phil (Cynthia) Knapp, Iron River, WI; six grandchildren, Matt (Julie) Moreau, Denver, CO, Jason (Jeanna) Moreau, Minneapolis, MN, Nathan (Nikki) Moreau, Denver, CO, Sarah (Andy) Holsclaw, Lake Nebagamon, WI, Joshua (Brooke) Knapp, Olathe, KS and Samuel (Danielle) Knapp, Houghton, MI; eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Katherine Willoughby, Suzie Costello and Rozie (Merv) Maki; one brother, Dan (Vicki) Knapp and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and two infant sisters.

A Time of Remembrance and Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Moon Lake Park in Iron River, WI with a memorial service at 11:00 AM.
