Nada Johnson, 86, lifelong Superior resident, died Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Twin Ports Health Services in Superior. She was born in Superior, November 7, 1932, the daughter of George and Mildred (Maeder) Reid.
She was united in marriage to Milton E. Johnson in 1950, and they celebrated 54 years of marriage before his passing in 2005. She was an independent child care provider for many years before her retirement, and was a member of Hope Congregational Church in Superior.
She is survived by her daughter, Laurie (Dennis) DeTarr, Superior, WI; sons, Mike (Bobbi) Johnson, Simi Valley, CA, and Dan Johnson, Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren, Charity (Wade) Colby, Superior, WI, and Brendan Johnson, Superior, WI; great-grandchildren, Chase and Faith Colby, Superior, WI; sister Dina Conley, Escondido, CA.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Milton; daughter, Pam Johnson; sister, Dorrie Reid; brothers, Jule Reid, and Bryce Maeder; and parents.
Nada was the neighborhood babysitter who affected many lives with her love and guidance. She always loved children and never complained when times got tough. Cindy, Brian and Andrew Lester became honorary grandchildren as a result of her unconditional love.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, Thursday, October 17, 2019, at Hope Congregational Church, 1827 Wyoming Avenue, Superior, and will continue until the 3:00 PM memorial service with Pastor Jeremy Skaggs officiating.
