Nancy A. Connolly

Nancy A. Connolly, 67, longtime East End Superior resident, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN, following a brief illness. She was born in Superior November 16, 1952, the daughter of Joseph and Delores (Maloney) Eibon.

Nancy was a 1971 graduate of Superior Senior High School. She went on to become a Certified LPN at the Wisconsin Indianhead Technical Institute in 1972.

She was united in marriage to Dan Connolly September 23, 1972, and they celebrated forty-seven years of marriage before her passing. Together, they moved to the Twin Cities for a number of years before relocating back to Duluth, when Nancy went to work at St. Francis Nursing Home in Superior. She had an interesting career and, later moved on to work for Dr. Johan Aas in Gastroenterology in Duluth for over twenty years, before moving on to Essentia Health St. Mary’s in Superior, where she worked until her retirement.

Nancy was an avid Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewer’s fan, and enjoyed reading and golfing. She was an amazing grandmother and loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Nancy is survived by her beloved husband, Dan Connolly, Superior, WI; son, William (Danielle) Connolly, Port Washington, WI; daughter, Angela Connolly, Superior, WI; grandchildren, Bryce and Madison Connolly; sister, Mary (Randy) Zuber, Superior, WI; brother, David (Barb) Eibon, Superior, WI; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Maureen “Moe” Massoglia.

A Celebration of Nancy’s Life will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 PM, Friday, July 31, 2020 at the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5 ^th Street, Superior, with a Service of Remembrance to begin at 6:00 PM. The Rev. Fr. James Tobolski will officiate.
