Nona F. Linden, 88, of Superior, died Sunday, December 18, 2016 at New Perspective Senior Living Center in Superior. She was born on February 1, 1928 in Shell Lake, WI to Richard and Bernice (Wilcox) Denotter.
She married Calvin Wayne “Bud” Linden on June 11, 1947 and celebrated sixty-three years of marriage before his passing in December of 2010.
Nona and her husband previously owned and operated a dairy farm in rural Douglas County and also worked as caretakers for the Swift Water Farm on the Brule River.
Nona is survived by three daughters, Mavis (Virgil) Johnson, Marlyn (Daryl) Johnson and Marlene Zunker; one son, Roger (Cindy) Linden; twelve grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Denotter and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband C. Wayne Linden, infant daughter Carol Jean Linden, grandson and former police officer Jason Zunker, sister Marie Richter and brothers Harry, Richard, Austin, Wendell, Jerry, Ernest and Duane her parents and seven half-brothers and sisters.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 22, 2016 in Whispering Pines Evangelical Free Church, 7523 S. Cty Rd E., Hawthorne, WI and continue until the 11:00 AM funeral service with Pastor Thomas Lindberg officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Superior, WI.
Pallbearers for the service will be her grandsons, Dale and Von Johnson, nephews Shane and Austin Denotter and grandsons-in-law Glen Miller and John Mark Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be the loving caregivers at New Perspective Senior Living Center (former Lighthouse of Superior).
