Norah Jean Patterson

June 1, 1949 — September 6, 2021

*** UPDATED PER NORAH'S REQUEST ***

Leave it up to my sister Nora to have the final word! If you are family, friends, or neighbors it’s important that you hear what she has to say. For those of us who know Nora, we could easily pour our thoughts, feelings, and words to her. She would listen but then have her say. Nora’s beloved granddaughter Shae Nicole has her bible.

Shae noticed while reading it, that Nora left instruction to have a specific bible verse read at the gathering for her memorial service. As the officiate of the Memorial Service, I am honoring her wishes to share her message to all who attended the service and those who could not.

The Bible Verse Hebrews 12:22-25 22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, 23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, 24 to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel. 25 See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven,

What is she saying? Her beacon in life was Jesus Christ. She saw her destination in the city of the living God, in the assembly of the church in heaven who are born again. She trusted to go there because when Jesus spoke to her heart, she called upon His name for forgiveness. Her name was written in the Lamb’s book of Life. She was washed with the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ. Now she is asking us; when Jesus speaks to your heart, please do not refuse Him. Open your heart to His love, forgiveness and set your beacon toward your Heavenly home. She wants to make sure she sees her friends, neighbors, and family with God, His Angels and Her in Heaven forever! Feel free to share.
