Patricia A. Johnson

Patricia A. Johnson, at the age of 55, passed Thursday, April 4th, 2013 at Essentia Health - St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth due to complications from cancer.

She is best remembered as a great cook for two picky children and their father, an eternal Randy Travis fan, cactus gardener, copious note-taker, crossword completionist, a wonderful mother, neighbor, daughter, sister, spouse, friend, aunt and cousin.

Patricia, or Patty, as she liked to be called, was born March 30, 1958 in St. Paul, MN to Merle and Emil Strenke.

She graduated Superior Senior High School in 1976, and was a longtime resident of Superior.

She was formerly employed as a nurse at Beverly Health Care Center, a waitress for the Androy Hotel and Sambo’s, and a baker for the former Tower Avenue Jubilee supermarket.

Patricia is survived by her husband, Stephen Johnson; her two children, Kevin Johnson and Haley Johnson; brothers Larry (Beth Ann) Strenke, Doug (Mary Kay) Strenke, Gary (Chris) Strenke, and Duane (Deb) Strenke; her sister LaVonne (Donald) Michalec; and countless cousins, nieces and nephews who she all loved.

Patricia is preceded by her mother, Merle Strenke; her father, Emil Strenke; her brothers, Russel, Dennis, Ronald, and Dale Strenke.

Per Patty’s request no public services are being planned.
