Patricia "Pat" A. Certano

Patricia “Pat” A. Certano, 90, Superior resident, died Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Cedar Ridge Assisted Living in Superior, WI. She was born in Bessemer, MI on May 14, 1929 to Clyde and Anna (Wozniak) Whitburn.

Pat married Aldo “Al” Certano and they celebrated fifty-six years of marriage before his passing in February of 2004. Pat was a longtime member of Cathedral of King Catholic Church for over forty years.  She was a member of the Superior Elks #403 Ladies Auxiliary, East End Senior Citizens Center, and the Christian Mothers Altar Society.  She enjoyed cooking, baking and especially spending time with her family and playing cards with her grandchildren.

Pat is survived by seven daughters, Beth (Tim) Schultz, Susan (Frank) Stariha, Rita (Jim) Lundberg, Barbara (Duane) Myhre and Angela (Mark) Booth, all of Superior, WI, Mary (Steve) Pederson, South Range, WI, and Ann Marie (Roger) Sweet, Brainerd, MN; one son, Anthony (Charlene Moen) Certano, Superior, WI ; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; two brothers, James Whitburn, Wakefield, MI and Robert (Donna) Whitburn, Sussex, WI. She is preceded in death by her husband, Aldo Certano and sisters, Theresa “Tessie” Tobin and Rita Kangas.

Visitation will be begin at 10:00 AM CDA rosary on Monday, January 27, 2020 at Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church and will continue until the 12:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Inna Pothireddy as celebrant. Pallbearers for the service will be Eddie Schultz, Joe and Matt Stariha, Jimmy Lundberg, David and Jonathan Myhre, Derek Pederson, Benjamin Rautio, Jesse Musech and Nickolas Neve. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Superior.
