Patricia R. Sorensen

Patricia R. Sorensen, 84, lifelong Superior resident, died Monday, April 1, 2019 surrounded by her family at St. Luke’s Hospice in Duluth, MN.

She was born in Superior, January 21, 1935, the daughter of Paul and Ruth (Nelson) Bergstrom.

Patricia owned and operated Upper Lakes Foods with her husband Larry for fifty-two years before her retirement in 2007. Prior to that she worked in sales at Roth Brothers in Superior.

She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Superior. Above all she was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and loved going to her grandchildren’s school concerts and sporting events. She loved being with her family at the cabin at Beauregard Lake and traveling.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Craig) Ryan, Cloquet, MN; sons, Steve (Sigrid) Sorensen, Scott (Gretchen) Sorensen and Shawn (Denise) Sorensen, all of Superior, WI; fourteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Jim Sorensen, West Allis, WI; and many special friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and beloved husband, Lawrence R. “Larry” Sorensen.

The family would like to express heartfelt appreciation to the St. Luke’s Hospice staff and the Home Instead caregivers, for their compassionate care during this time.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1924 Wyoming Avenue, Superior, and will continue until the 11:00 AM Funeral Service with Pastor Dennis Paulson officiating.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
