Paul Robert Konkler, 50, longtime Brule area resident, died Saturday, August 29, 2015 at his residence, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born September 20, 1964 in Robinsdale, Minnesota, the son of Robert and Bridget (Purcell) Konkler.
Paul married Judith Fudally on September 22, 1989 in Blaine, Minnesota and had celebrated twenty-five years of marriage with four beautiful children.
Paul spent the majority of his thirty-year career in the concrete sawing industry. He was a proud owner, estimator, and laborer who developed many long lasting relationships over the years.
He was a member of the Duluth Builders Exchange and the Twin Ports
Walleye Association.
Paul loved woodworking, fishing, golfing, camping, and hunting. He was an avid outdoorsman.
He was also a loyal Minnesota Vikings, Gophers, and Wild fan.
Paul was a huge family man, a husband, father, brother, and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Judith, Brule, WI; one son, Paul Konkler, Brule, WI; three daughters, Jena Konkler, Jami Konkler and Jese Konkler all of Brule, WI; his mother, Bridget Foster, Naples, Florida; one brother, Matthew (Gina) Konkler, Belvidere, Illinois; two sisters, Kori (Brad) Meewes, Woodbury, MN and Kris Savoie, Naples, Florida; many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Stella.
Paul was preceded in death by his fathers, Robert Konkler and Gene Foster.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, September 2, 2015 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 East 5 th Street, Superior, with a Scripture service at 5:00 PM.
Visitation will continue on Thursday September 3, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Cathedral Christ the King, Superior until the 11:00 AM, Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Superior.
Pallbearers for the service will be, Paul Konkler, Matthew Konkler, Brad Meewes, Steve Savoie, Richard Campbell, and David Nelson.
Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
