Pauline B. (Hoddy) Mazza

Pauline Beatrice (Hoddy) Mazza, 92, longtime Superior resident, passed quietly from this world into her new world on Sunday, September 15, 2019. She was born in Loddon, England on August 4, 1927 to Edgar Fred and Leah Rose Hoddy.

Upon her father’s death, her mother moved her family to Superior. She was employed by Superior Memorial Hospital and Chaffey’s Nursing Home. In 1989 she retired as a cook from the Douglas County Jail. She married Frank Mazza and they had a good and loving life together.

Pauline was a caregiver of many. She cared for her mother, her loving and caring husband, Frank and her mother-in-law until the end. She enjoyed helping people all her life. She was a great cook and she cooked and baked for many people in the community. Pauline felt her life was blessed with many special and good friends. She loved and was loved by many and will be truly missed.

Pauline is survived by her loving daughter, Lori Mazza and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Frank, her parents, brother George Hoddy and her mother-in-law and father-in-law Lillian and Robert Whalen, Sr.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM in the Community Room at the Grand Central Plaza, 1326 Weeks Avenue, Superior. Burial will be in Spooner, WI in the Calvary Cemetery.
