Pearl Lucille Krans

December 3, 1917 — February 28, 2013

Pearl Lucille Krans, 95, lifelong resident of Superior, died Thursday, February 28, 2013 after leading a long and full life. Pearl was born on December 3, 1917 to Carl Theodor and Julie Ragna (Wagner) Krans and was the youngest of their three daughters.

Pearl attended public school in Superior and graduated from the former Central High School and Duluth Business College. She was employed as a bookkeeper, secretary and office manager, notably at Superior Sausage and later at DeVinck’s Pontiac dealership.

Pearl was a lifelong member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and the former Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Billings Park and a longtime member of the Superior Christian Women’s Gathering. She enjoyed keeping in close touch with family and friends. She had a remarkable memory for detail and loved to recount many stories past and present about the lives of her family and friends. Pearl will be remembered for her quick wit, her devotion to faith, family and friends, and her extraordinary skills as an oral historian.

Pearl was preceded in death by her parents and also her older sisters, Alma Svea Alves and Alice Christine Perry.
She is survived by her nieces, Carolyn (Dan) Shipp and Patty (Don) Heyse, both of Colorado.

She is also survived by five great-nephews and nieces and by six great great-nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, Friday, March 8, 2013 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1924 Wyoming Avenue, Superior and continue until the 2:00 PM funeral service with Pastor Sarah Kerkes officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Superior.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Pearl’s name to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church or the Superior Christian Women’s Gathering, 2318 Hammond Avenue, Superior, WI 54880.
