Peter Anderson 76, Superior, died Wednesday, September 02, 2009 in his home. He was born on February 23, 1934 in Superior and was raised by Arthur and Teresa (Pollock) Johnson.
He graduated from Solon Springs High School and then went on to serve in the United States Army from 1953 to 1956. Upon his return he graduated from UW-Superior with a degree in education.
Peter married Betty Ruth Flatten in Kenai, Alaska on May 5, 1955 and celebrated fifty-four years of marriage.
He was employed as a car salesman; a salesman for Prudential Insurance; he was a postal carrier and he taught at Duluth Business University for over nine years.
In addition to his wife Betty, Peter is survived by two sons, David (Sherri) Anderson, Westminster, CO, Doug Anderson, Superior; one daughter, Dawn (Grant) Rosier, Meeker, CO; six grandchildren, Dani (Jim) Leas, Grabill, IN, Kyle Engelbriktson, Longmont, CO, Nick and Taylor Anderson, Westminster, CO, Jenny Anderson, Superior, Hali Anderson, Superior; two great-grandchildren, Makayla Anderson and Vance Leas and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Orville Anderson and a sister, Gladys Androski.
Visitation will begin after 5:00 PM Tuesday, September 8, 2009 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home with a Scripture Service is scheduled for 6:30 PM.
Visitation will continue at 10:30 AM until the 11:00 AM Memorial Mass on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 in Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci will be celebrant.
Inurnment will be in the Bennett Cemetery.
Pete's family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to St. Luke's Home Hospice for the wonderful care they offered during Pete's illness.
