Peter J. Coda

Peter John Coda, 72, of Tucson, AZ, former longtime resident of Superior, WI died peacefully on Monday, March 28, 2022 at a Duluth hospital with his family by his side, after courageously battling cancer for 2.5 years. He was born in Superior, July 23, 1949, the son of Anthony and Dorothy (Nadolski) Coda.

Pete graduated from the former Cathedral High School in Superior and went on to attend the University of Wisconsin-Superior and the Wisconsin Technical Institute, earning his associate degree in business management.

He was united in marriage to Carol Jarvinen on August 1, 1970, and they celebrated fifty-one years of marriage before his passing.

He worked as a retail store manager for 35 years for Red Owl, Shopko, and Office Max. He later worked as the credit manager for Como Oil & Propane for ten years before retiring. He enjoyed playing golf, boating and fishing, and he especially loved his family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Coda; daughter, Kristie (Scott) Cunningham; son, Daniel (Rachel McRostie) Coda; grandson, Noah Coda; granddaughter Amy Hazel Naughton; brother, Tony (Mary) Coda; sister-in-law, Janice Coda; brother-in-law, Bill Foerst; eleven nieces and nephews, and many friends and family who supported him during his illness.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Dorothy Coda, brother, Jim Coda, and sister, Janice Foerst.

The family would like to extend their many thanks to the compassionate nurses, doctors, and staff at Essentia Health who cared for Pete.

Per Pete’s wishes, no services will be held at this time. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
