Phyllis M. Erbe, 79, of Pekin, IL, formerly of Superior, WI, went home to heaven at 10:18 a.m. on Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Heartland Health Care Center in Peoria, IL, and into the loving arms of her husband, Aubrey G. Erbe who passed away on April 10, 1978.
She was born on January 21, 1938 in Superior, WI to Raymond J. and Ann L. McKone.
Surviving are her two beloved children, Susan (Chris Yount) Erbe of Pekin, IL, and David (Barbara) Erbe of Creve Coeur, IL; one beloved granddaughter, Kathy (Sam) Smith of New Holland, IL and four cherished great-grandchildren Alexander, Ashley, Heidi and Logan, as well as several nieces & nephews. She is also survived by her sister, Rae Ann Lyon of Hudson, WI.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents, and her brother William J. (Clara) McKone of Metarie, LA.
Phyllis was an alumni of Cathedral High School, and realized her dream to become a Licensed Practical Nurse before her marriage on January 24, 1959 at Cathedral of Christ the King in Superior, WI.
She was well respected, had a wonderful sense of humor, was kind, loving and generous to all those around her. Phyllis truly loved, and was loved by her children & grandchildren.
She was a member of Cathedral up until she moved with her family to Pekin, Illinois in 1973, where she was a member of St Joseph's Catholic Church in Pekin until her passing.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church and will continue until the 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant.
There will be a graveside service following at St. Francis Cemetery in Superior.
In lieu of flowers, if preferred, donations may be made to Susan G. Komen for the prevention of breast cancer since Phyllis was a breast cancer survivor herself.
The Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5th Street, Superior is assisting the family with arrangements.
