Phyllis E Severson

Phyllis E. Severson, 99, longtime Superior resident, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 in Superior, WI at Villa Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born the daughter of Ellsworth and Ethel (Gustafson) Lanquist on January 31, 1926 in Superior.

She was a graduate of Central High School in Superior. Phyllis wed Harold Severson and they celebrated 25 years together before his passing in 1973.

Phyllis was employed as a seamstress at Minnesota Woolen in Duluth, MN for many years. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. Getting together with her painting group, Olde Towne Artists, was always a pleasure. Playing cards with friends and family was always a fun time. In her younger years she liked to dance and was member of a golfing league at Pattison Park Golf Course. Her favorite pastime was family gatherings where she could spoil her grandkids and great-grandkids.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Nancy Anderson (David Johnson), Superior; grandchildren, Brian Anderson (Kelli)  and April Benesch (Chad); great-grandchildren, Kylie Benesch, Camren Benesch, Madalyn Grace Anderson, Liam Anderson, and Stella Anderson; and many nieces and nephews, including special niece and nephew, Diane Heiner and Tom (Nancy) Heiner.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, and her parents.

Visitation begins at 12:30 PM on August 23, 2025  at Christ Lutheran Church, 320 N 28th Street and continues until the Memorial Service at 1:00 PM with Pastor Kirk Schield officiating.

Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Superior.
