Randy C. Larson, 58, Fridley, MN resident, died Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at JA Wedum Hospice in Brooklyn Park, MN following a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on July 16, 1960 in Superior, WI to Donald and Norma (Nelson) Larson.
He graduated from Superior Senior High School in 1978 and received an accounting degree from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Randy worked for LZ Trucking Equipment for many years.
He was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were the Green Bay Packers, Boston Red Sox, Wisconsin Badgers, Boston Bruins and Minnesota Wild. He coached youth hockey and youth baseball. During high school he participated on the hockey team and track team. He enjoyed music and live concerts, especially Lynyrd Skynyrd and Metallica.
Randy is survived by his beloved partner, Jennifer Cornwell, Fridley, MN; two sons, Sean (Molly Eagles) Larson and Ryan Larson and their mother Karen Larson, all of Little Canada, MN; his parents, Donald and Norma Larson, Superior, WI; one brother, Scott (Pam) Larson and one sister, Deanna “Dee Dee” (Randy) Kolanczyk, both of Superior, WI; Jennifer’s children, daughter Brianna (Matt) Sampson, Blue Grass, IA and son, Parker (Amanda Castro) Cornwell, Nashville, TN; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and a great nephew. He is preceded in death by his daughter Anna Nicole Larson and sister Debra Schachte.
A Time of Remembrance will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1924 Wyoming Avenue, Superior and continue until the 12:00 PM Celebration of Life Service with Pastor Dennis Paulson officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Superior at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be John Trentor, Bob Bukowski, Darrell Dalbec, Mike Anderson, Randy Kolanczyk, Rick Knoche and Rick Schachte.
An additional Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, October 29, 2018 at the Roseville VFW Post 7555 which is located at 1145 Woodhill Drive, St. Paul, MN 55113.
