Raymond Bladecki

Raymond Bladecki, 90, formerly of South Range, currently of Brookfield, WI, died Sunday, April 26, 2009 in Care Age of Brookfield, WI. He was born on September 19, 1918 in Bay City, MI to Charles and Constance (Martek)Bladecki.

He was employed with Industrial Brownhoist in Bay City, MI, Erie Mining Company in Hoyt Lakes, MN and he retired from Clyde Iron Company in Duluth, MN.

Ray was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. He loved to write letters to family and friends and he loved spending time with his family and friends. Ray was an avid sports fan and he enjoyed gardening and fishing.

He is survived by one son, David (Janet) Bladecki, Glenwood City, WI; two daughters, Geraldine Closson, Green Bay, WI, Pauline (Joseph) Plautz, Milwaukee, WI; five grandchildren, Susan Bladecki, Superior, Dean Closson, Green Bay, Denise Closson, Green Bay, Tanya (Richard) Troska, Brooklyn Park, MN, Kimberly Bladecki, Esko, MN; three great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Mykala Ericksen and Lillian Troska; one sister Geraldine (Ray) Swiercz, Grayling, MI; one brother Larry (Mary Jo) Bladecki, Bay City, MN; his great-granddog, Sweet Pea and several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

Ray was preceded in death by his wife Rita in 1998; his son Jerome in 1985; two brothers, Marion P. and Jerome "Bud" Bladecki; three sisters, Dorothy Bladecki, Eleanor Marchlewicz and Jane Volk; one sister-in-law, Nancy Bladecki and three brothers-in-law, Joe Mika, Harry Marchliwicz and Henry Volk, and his parents.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Friday, May 1, 2009 and will continue until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Edwin Anderson, as celebrant. Pallbearers for the service will be Rob Graff, Darryl Roy, Rick Raymond, Forrest Evavold, Jeff Glaus and Tom Erickson. Honorary pallbearers will be Herb Meckola, Dick Heytens and Paul Haskins. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.

The Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
