Reino A. Kangas

Reino A. Kangas, 96, South Range, WI resident, died on Monday, February 6, 2017 at Middle River Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was born on December 31, 1920 in Iron River, WI to Jacob and Hilma Kangas.

Reino served his country in the United States Army Air Corps. He married Martha Peramaki on April 30, 1949 and they celebrated fifty years of marriage before her passing in January of 2000. Reino was a millwright for Archer Daniels Midland Company in Superior for twenty-eight years retiring in 1984.

He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be missed dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Martha, daughter Sandy Adams, seven brothers and four sisters.

Reino is survived by five sons, Steve Kangas and Dale Kangas, both of Superior, WI, Phil Kangas, Parker, CO, Mark Kangas, Superior, WI and Paul Kangas, Superior, WI; one daughter, Priscilla (James) Bratek, South Range, WI; eight grandchildren, Dylan, Angela, Tonia, Matt, Jake, Beth, Nick and Nate; four great-grandchildren, Dara, Chad, Ruby and Rhody and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 9, 2017 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5th Street, Superior.

Visitation will resume on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Bethel Lutheran Church at 10:00 AM and continue until the 11:00 AM funeral service with Pastor Gary Garnatz officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Superior. Military Honors will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435 Honor Guard. Pallbearers for the service will be Matt Kangas, Tonia and Matt Beal, Jake, Julien and Beth Bratek.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Middle River Health & Rehabilitation Center and to Essentia Hospice for the loving care they gave to Reino.
