Richard C. Sampson

Richard C. “Dick” Sampson, 86, of South Range, WI, died Tuesday, April 7, 2020. He was born on August 24, 1933 to William and Agnes (Horvath) Sampson in Superior, WI and grew up in Billings Park. He graduated from Superior Central High and served in the United States Army as a heavy equipment operator.

Dick married Bernadine Hudacek on October 17, 1959 and they celebrated fifty- eight years of marriage. They enjoyed going out dancing and roller skating together. He also loved to hunt, fish and ski. He owned and operated Sampson's Auto Service in Billings Park for over 50 years, specializing in automotive air conditioning.

Dick is survived by daughters, Ann (Curt) Smerud of New Hope, MN and Jill (Dan) Moots of Ham Lake, MN; son, Robert Sampson of Robbinsdale, MN; brother, James Sampson of Superior and seven grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Bernadine, son Richard “Rick” Sampson Jr, and brother William Sampson.

Due to CDC guidelines and Governor mandates, services for Dick will be held at a later date.
