Richard A. Doolittle

April 29, 1954 — November 16, 2018

Rick was a lifelong resident of Superior, WI born April, 29 th 1954. Graduated from Superior Senior High School class of 1973. He was the son of Robert and Irene (Ghyselinck) Doolittle. Rick married Robin Rae Hart in Cromwell, MN. The two celebrated 33 years of marriage over summer. They had son Ricky C. Doolittle on July, 24 1996. Rick enjoyed 42 years as a conductor for BNSF railroad. On November 16, 2018 Rick went to heaven joining Dave Meyers for a beer and to shoot their big buck. Rick was a fantastic cook. The guys at the shack will miss his cooking and company dearly. Rick loved to hunt, fish, to take his dog Popeye for walks, spend time at his camper in Wascott, WI, and Up North Resort with son Ricky on weekends so they could spend father, son time together. He had a great summer and fall with his brothers and sisters who he thought the world of and loved so dearly. Rick kept a smile on his face right to the end. Spending time with Ricky and Robin sitting on the deck with their 3 cats Annie, NeNe and Leo (Popeye) He never complained about his illness during this time but was more concerned about others. He was generous and kind to everyone. Per Rick’s request there will not be a service. Instead there was a party for Rick September 22 nd to celebrate his life.  He was grateful to and enjoyed everyone that attended. He donated his body to the University of Minnesota to yet again, try and help others.  Rick was one unique soul we will love always and forever. He could never be forgotten. Preceded in death by parents Robert and Irene, brother Jeff, and sister-in-law in Jennifer Kolanek. Special friends Ken and Mary Meyers and son Dave. Survived by loving wife Robin and son Ricky. Mother-in-law Ellie Mae Nelson. Siblings Bob (Lisa), Mike (Nancy), Steve, Cindy (Steve), Pat (Polly), Debbie (Jeff), Scott, Tom (Tara), Dan and many other family members and friends.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at St. Croix Hospice for the loving care they provided Rick and his family.
