Richard J. Haring, 66, Superior, died Monday, February 24, 2014 in his home following a long battle with a terminal lung disease.
He was born on June 11, 1947 in Tomahawk, WI to Bernard and Elizabeth (Schuit) Haring.
Richard was a retired Air Force veteran, serving his country for over twenty years.
While in the Air Force he served in Viet Nam.
He married Nancy Gruebele on September 14, 2002 and celebrated 12 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife Nancy, Richard is survived by one son Derek Midbrod, Superior; one daughter, Kayla Midbrod, Superior; five brothers, Bernard (Carol) Haring, Tomahawk, WI, Robert (Beverly) Haring, Tomahawk, WI, Thomas Haring, Wausau, WI, Michael (Melissa) Haring, Tomahawk, WI, Joseph (Laura) Haring, Tomahawk, WI; six sisters, Agnes (Harry) Fender, Indiana, Virginia (Robert) Larson, Fond du Lac, WI Betty Lou McArdle, Las Vegas, NV, Peggy Hitt, Fond du Lac, WI, Patricia (Mike) Butz, St. Cloud, WI, Mary (Dusty) Carstensen, Tomahawk, WI and many nieces and nephews.
Richard is also survived by a little girl who was like a granddaughter to him Keysha Jaques Calhoun.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
Visitation will begin at 12:30 PM until the 1:30 PM Funeral Service on Thursday, February 27, 2014 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home with Melvin Hanka and Robert S. Gruebele, co-officiating.
Burial will be in the Finnish Apostolic Cemetery in Maple where military honors will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435.
