Richard M. Jacobson

April 3, 1939 — June 13, 2015

Richard M. Jacobson, 76, longtime Superior area resident, died Saturday. June 13, 2015, at Golden Living Center, Superior, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Superior, WI on April 3, 1939, the son of Harry C. and Clara (Lee) Jacobson.

Richard served his country in the United States Air Force.

He was employed by the Burlington Northern Railroad as an Electrician.

Richard was also employed by Telephone Associates, Duluth Avionics and Collins Grocery.

He loved the Green Bay packers, NASCAR, History of World War II, and stock car racing in Superior. Richard loved long walks on Barkers Island and Wisconsin Point.

Richard was fond of the Christmas Holiday’s with his family.

Richard is survived by four sisters, Elsie (Duane) Michaelson, Dairyland WI; Judy Martineau, Hutchinson, MN ; Karen (Kevin) Johnson, Superior and Nancy Jacobson , Superior; two brothers, Norman (Mary) Jacobson and Vernon Jacobson, both of Superior, WI; several nieces and nephews, and his good friend, Harris ”Pete” Lavine.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry C and Clara Jacobson;

one sister, Claudia “Toots” Graves; three brothers, Harry E. “Bud”, Gordon, Rolfe Jacobson and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM, Wednesday, June 17, 2015 in the Lenroot -Maetzold Home, 1209 East 5 th Street, Superior.

Visitation will continue at 10:AM on Thursday, June 18, 2015, until the 11:00 AM Funeral Service with Pastor Sarah Kerkes, of Our Savors Lutheran Church, officiating.

Pallbearers for the service will be, Thomas Buck, Gerald Buck, Sr., Paul Dietmeier, David Jacobson, Ron Hedberg and David Nadeau.

Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Superior, where Military honors will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435 Honor Guard.
