Richard R. Peterson

Richard R. Peterson, 76, lifelong resident of Bennett, WI passed away peacefully and comfortably at home surrounded by family on Thursday, August 31, 2023, after a long 20 + year battle fighting Parkinson’s.

He was born in Superior on February 14, 1947, the son of John and Ingrid (Abrahamson) Peterson.

Richard was united in marriage to Tammy Sibila on New Years Eve 1986, and they celebrated thirty-six years of marriage before his passing.

Rich found peace being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and capturing pictures of wildlife around his childhood home of Bennett, WI. He loved his family, the Packers, his dogs, 7-Up, and ketchup on everything.

Rich traveled for over thirty years proudly working in the dirt as a backhoe operator burying underground telephone cable. He also worked as a general contractor helping people by completing small jobs around their homes with his backhoe.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and many aunts and uncles.

Rich is survived by his beloved wife, Tammy; daughters, Andi (Brian) Hankins, Lori (Mike) Roberts, and Ann Marie; son, Richard; grandchildren, Brody, Taylor, Riley, Jaxson, Ben, Eli, Markous, Brandie, and Samantha; sister, DeeAnn; brother, Pete, and nephew and niece, Alex, and Grace.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to nurse Sarah from Essentia Health Hospice, Stacie Sibila, and Frannie K’s and crew for their amazing support.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Richard’s home in Bennett, WI.
