Robert T. Amoth

Robert T. Amoth, 62, lifelong resident of Poplar, WI, died peacefully, Sunday, October 17, 2021, at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN with his wife by his side. He was born in Superior October 9, 1959, the son of Rudolph and Mary (Pollock) Amoth.

He graduated from Northwestern High School, class of 1978.

Robert was united in marriage to Wanda Nelson in May of 1986, and they celebrated thirty-five years of marriage before his passing.

He worked as a cabinet maker at Erlanson Company for many years before becoming a Carpenter with Local 361.

Robert enjoyed anything outdoors, especially snowmobiling, boating, 4-wheeling & cutting and splitting firewood.

Robert could fix or build anything!  With the help of family and friends he built his family home.  Above all Robert was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his loved ones. He especially enjoyed spending time with and participating in events with his great-nephew Ryan, whom he raised as his son. Robert would drop everything in a heartbeat for Ryan!  He loved him with all his heart.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Wanda; honorary son, Ryan; sisters, Yvonne (John) Lundeen, Debi (Dave) Lanhart, Linda (Tom) Wiedemann, Patricia (Rick) Davey, and Terry Kelly; brother, Larry (Tracy) Amoth; several nieces and nephews; and mother-in-law, Donna Nelson.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Jack Johnson, brother-in-law, Bob Kelly; nephews, Carl and Weylon Wiedemann; and father-in-law, Tiger Nelson.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Mission Covenant Church, 5161 S. County Road P, Poplar, and will continue until the 12:00 PM Memorial Service with Pastor Darrell Nelson officiating.

Burial will be in Poplar Cemetery.
