Robert “Bob” T. Clements, 88, Superior resident, died Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospice in Duluth, MN. He was born on January 4, 1930 in Superior, WI to Neils T. and Edith (Anderson) Clements.
He graduated from the former Superior Central High School in 1950 and attended the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Bob served his country in the United States Army at the age of 17 with the 11 th Airborne Division for three years as a paratrooper and then served in the Air National Guard as a firefighter with the 148 th Fighter Wing in Duluth, retiring after twenty years of military service.
He married Barbara Allen on March 9, 1990 in Superior, WI and they recently celebrated twenty-eight years of marriage.
Bob had been employed as a paramedic for the Douglas County Ambulance Service for over thirty-four years and previously worked for the Great Northern Railroad. He was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Superior; VFW; American Legion; United Commercial Travelers; Superior Shrine Club, Aad Temple Shrine; Aad Temple Shrine Bagpipe Band and he also advanced to a 32 nd Degree Shriner through the Scottish Rite. Bob enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing and remodeling.
In addition to his wife Barbara, Bob is survived by a step-daughter, Corinne M. (Mike) Seemuth, FL; two step-sons, Charles (Linda) Pettingill, Superior, WI and Scott (Vicki) Pettingill, Chicago, IL; one grandchild, Alexandria (Coy) Christmas; two great-grandchildren, Coy T. and Hadley Christmas and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Betty May Clements, Barbara Ann Clements and Kathryn Waystedt.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 820 Belknap Street, Superior and continue until the 12:00 PM funeral service with Pastor Will Mowchan officiating.
Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Superior. Pallbearers for the service will be Coy Christmas, Coy T. Christmas, Matthew Ketola, Michael Ketola, Mark Ketola and Church Pettingill. Military Honors will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435 Honor Guard.
