Robert “Bob” Olson, 74, of Maple, WI, died on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Miller Dwan Hospital in Duluth, MN.
He was born on February 20, 1943 in Superior, WI to Richard and Laina (Saari) Olson.
Bob graduated from Northwestern High School in 1961 and from University of Superior-Wisconsin with a degree in Education.
He served his country in the National Guard and was a member of the American Legion Post #409 in Poplar.
Bob taught science in Black River Falls for thirty years.
He enjoyed his hobby farm in Maple and enjoyed working on tractors and machinery. He was a member of the Douglas County Tractor Club. He also loved the outdoors and deer hunting.
Bob is survived by his special friend, Bonnie Trapp; one sister, Shirley Mackey, Barnes, WI; two aunts, Ruth Olson and Emma Mattson and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by sister Doris Anderson and brothers Dick and Ron Olson.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Hope Lutheran Church in Oulu, WI and continue until the 11:00 memorial service with Pastor Scott Stai officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post #409 - Poplar. Burial will be in Maple Lutheran Cemetery at a later.
The Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5 th Street, Superior is assisting the family with arrangements.
