Robert “Bob” Kevin Slusher, 62, Cloquet, MN, formerly of Kenosha, WI, soared into the arms of our Lord on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, in his home. He was born June 12, 1959, the son of Nelson Cotton and Rose Marie (Light) Slusher in Miamisburg, OH.
He grew up in Miamisburg and attended and excelled in school, graduating from Miamisburg High School and Montgomery County Joint Vocational School simultaneously.
Bob enjoyed aviation and was technically inclined. He obtained his pilot’s license to fly small aircrafts and worked as a skilled aircraft technician at various locations over forty-four years, most recently at AAR in Cloquet, MN, DB Aviation in Waukegan, IL, and Whitman Corporation. During that time, he also owned and operated Jet Tech Service in Kenosha, WI.
Bob met his love and life partner, Debra Simas in 1989 and they spent thirty-two years together. Bob and Deb were married on February 2, 2002, and they were soon to celebrate their twentieth wedding anniversary.
Bob loved the outdoors. With his wife alongside him, Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling. They specially enjoyed their motorcycle trips throughout the western part of the United States. Bob and Deb enjoyed living life to the fullest. They were music enthusiasts, and especially enjoyed traveling to see the Happy Schnapp’s Combo polka band play at various locations. As a diehard Chicago Bears fan, the only song played by the band that Bob did not enjoy was “Da Bears Still Suck.” Bob and Deb also enjoyed bowling, playing darts, shooting pool, and socializing with friends and family. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed bartending as a hobby, where he was lovingly known as “What about Bob” and “Country Bob.” He was a member of the Cloquet, MN, Moose Lodge 1274.
Bob is survived by his wife, Debra Slusher, Kenosha, WI; daughter, Miranda; grandchildren, Joseph Robert “Joe Joe,” and Avianna Marie “Avie;” niece, Krystle, of Ohio; and great-niece, Kylie. He is further survived by his brother, David (Erin) Slusher, Colorado Springs, CO; his sister, Karen (Carroll) Hathaway Slusher, Belton, TX; nephews, Ian, of Colorado Springs, and Beau, of Belton, TX; great-nephews, Landon, and Triston, of Colorado Springs; a special cousin who Bob thought of as his honorary brother, Jeff (Liz) Knight; their children, Jeremy, Megan, and Dana, and eight grandchildren, all of Ohio; his fur baby and canine companion, Du Shea; and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Preceding him in death are his parents, and fur babies, Max, Duchess, Kuuipo, and Brett.
The Lord must have had problems with his golden jet because he called you home and heaven gained another angel.
A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at a later date.
