Robert "Bob" Sullivan

Robert “Bob” Sullivan, 80, longtime Superior resident, died Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN. He was born on March 12, 1937 in Chicago, IL to Harry and Violet (Sprandel) Sullivan.

He graduated from high school in Chicago, IL. Bob served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He married Sharon Willcocks on June 3, 1982 in Virginia, MN and would have celebrated thirty-five years of marriage next month. Bob was employed in construction/maintenance as a tuck pointer for many years. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, woodcarving and golfing.

In addition to his wife Sharon, Bob is survived by two stepsons, Randy J. Retzer, Superior, WI and Michael G. Retzer, Cannon Falls, MN; three step-grandchildren, Alexander, Michael and Miranda Retzer; one sister, Patricia Sullivan, Chicago, IL and one brother, James (Barbara) Sullivan, Huntley, IL.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Jerry and William Sullivan.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and continue until the 11:00 AM Memorial Mass with Rev. Fr. James Tobolski as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Superior.
