Robert Benjamin Corey Jr.

Robert Benjamin Corey Jr., 85, lifelong resident of Superior, died Wednesday, April 5, 2017 in Duluth, MN. He was born September 15, 1931 in Superior, the son of Robert B. and Rose (Hizinski) Corey.

After high school Robert joined the United States Air Force and served in Alaska, Japan and Okinawa. When he was discharged, he joined the Duluth Air Guard where he retired after twenty years as the Assistant Fire Chief. He also worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Duluth for fourteen years and operated a lawn care business with his sons for twenty years. He was also a member of the Superior City Council from 1968 – 1972.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene, Superior, WI; sister, Florence Corey, Superior, WI; children, Shane Corey, Superior, Tammy (Scott) Schnepper, Maple, WI, Timothy (Ann) Corey, Boise, ID, Dean Corey, Superior, WI and Dennis (Brenda) Corey, Superior, WI and his dogs, Missy, Pumpkin and Susie; t hree grandchildren, Benjamin, Leona, and Jessica.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Monday, April 10, 2017 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2316 East Fourth Street, Superior, and will continue until the 11:00 AM Memorial Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. James Tobolski as celebrant.
