Robert L. Dalbec

April 27, 1927 — November 23, 2012

Robert L. Dalbec, 85, died Friday, November 23, 2012 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Superior. He was born on April 27, 1927 in Maple, WI to Edward and Elizabeth (DeRosia) Dalbec.

He served in the United States Army during World War II.

Bob married Janet (nee) Seafolk.

After returning from the Army, Bob went to work for the Great Northern Railroad for over twenty years. He then opened Dalbec Sales and Service in Pattison Park. He also worked at Barko Hydraulics as a diesel mechanic, retiring in 1993.

Bob was a member of the Thomas F. Stein VFW Post #1091 and the Cooties.

In addition to his wife Janet, Bob is survived by three sons, Anthony Thompson, Superior, Randall Thompson, Walworth, WI, Jeffrey (Jeanne) Thompson, Superior; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Luke, Courtney, Brandon, Ian, Danielle and Elijah; six great-grandchildren, Sam, Jake, Kailynn, Michael, Tyler and Haylee; two brothers, Daniel Dalbec, Brule, WI, Ronald Dalbec, Blueberry, WI and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Betty and three brothers, Kenny, Gerald and Hubert Dalbec.


Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Memorial Mass on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Don Kania as celebrant.


Military Honors will be accorded at the church after the mass by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435 Honor Guard.

Burial will be in Veteran’s Memorial Park in Greenwood Cemetery, Superior at a later date.
