Robert A. Gronski

Robert A. Gronski, loving husband and father, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at his home.

He was born on August 2, 1937 in Superior, WI, the son of Anthony and Sophie (Kulas) Gronski.

He served his country in the United States Air Force.

Robert was employed as a Special Agent with the Burlington Northern Railroad for twenty-three years retiring in 1991.

He married MaryAnn Bozinski on August 7, 1965 in Superior and celebrated forty-five years of marriage.

Robert was a member of St. William’s Catholic Church. He was a past member of the Town of Superior Volunteer Fire Department and past Town of Superior Constable.

He loved bowling, working in his garden, hunting, fishing at their cabin in Solon Springs, working on his son’s farm and watching NASCAR. He was a loving caring father and loved being around his children and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, children and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father, Anthony and father and mother-in-law, Edward and Mary Bozinski.

Robert is survived by his wife, MaryAnn; two daughters, Kathrine (Douglas) Hubbard, Chippewa Falls, WI and Sharon (Kevin) Lohman, South Range, WI; one son, Robert Gronski, Jr., Foxboro, WI; four grandchildren, Kristy, Stacy, Lexie and Carlie; three step-grandchildren, Michael and Katie Hubbard and Kendra Lohman; mother, Sophie Gronski, Duluth, MN; two sisters, Mary Ann Wendlick, Milwaukee, WI and Linda (John) Bradley, Duluth, MN; one brother, Gerald Gronski, Superior, WI and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Friday, May 13, 2011 in the Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior with a Scripture service to be held at 7:00 PM.

Visitation will resume at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 14, 2011 in St. William’s Catholic Church and continue until the 11:00 AM memorial Mass with Rev. Fr. Ronald Olson and Rev. Fr. Kevin Gordon as concelebrants.

Inurnment will be in St. William’s Cemetery.
