Robert J. “Bob” Jacobson 82, lifelong Poplar, Wisconsin area resident, died Friday, December 11, 2015 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN surrounded by his family.
He was born in Poplar, WI on September 6, 1933, the son of Roy and Lorraine (Moquist) Jacobson.
Robert graduated from Northwestern High School.
He married Blanche Rowe on July 12, 1952 in Lake Nebagamon and celebrated sixty-three years of marriage.
Bob was employed by the former Twin Ports Dairy also known as AMPI (Associated Milk Producers, Inc.) for over thirty years before his retirement.
He was a long time active member of Peace Lutheran Church in Poplar and served on the church council; he also served on the Maple School District Board of Education for over thirty years.
Bob was a longtime member of the Wentworth Poplar Lions Club.
He served on the Poplar Board as member and President and served that roll in various capacities.
He enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, baseball, hockey and basketball, college football, NASCAR and followed all Northwestern High Schools sports.
Bob was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed his time on the golf course.
In addition to his wife Blanche; he is survived one daughter, Robin (Rick) Davis of New Lenox, IL; one son, Dean (Sherry) Jacobson, South Range, WI; one daughter-in-law, Cherie Dutton Skylondz, Lake Nebagamon, WI; four grandchildren, Ben (Cortney) Foote, of Downers Grove, IL; Travis (Janelle) Jacobson, Ramsey, MN; Amy (Bryan) Hannula, South Range, WI; and Emily Jacobson, Nashville, TN; nine great-grandchildren, Braydon, Blayne, Breya Hannula; Kylee and Emma Jacobson; Amelia, Aaron, Adam and Emmett Foote; two brothers, Donald Jacobson of Edina, MN and Harry Jacobson of Barnes, WI.
Bob was preceded in death by one son, Ron; His parents; one sister Roberta Jacobson; two grandsons, Jason Foote and Eric Jacobson.
Visitation will be from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Peace Lutheran Church in Poplar where a Memorial Service will be held at 3:00pm with Pastor Donna Rutten, officiating.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made in Bob’s name to Peace Lutheran Church in Poplar.
