Robert L. Kennelly, Sr.

Robert L. Kennelly, Sr., 68, longtime Superior resident, died Sunday, December 20, 2009 at the Golden Living Center in Superior.

He was born on December 24, 1940 in Pontiac, MI to Myron and Eunice (Peters) Kennelly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Myron and Eunice, sister, Marilyn Oesterreich and a granddaughter, Kassie Kennelly.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of forty-eight years, Susan; four sons, Robert Jr. (Kris), Blaine, MN, Richard (Lisa), Superior, WI, Peter (Brenda), Coon Rapids, MN and Paul (Stacey) Kennelly, Superior, WI; nine grandchildren, Phil, Conor, Haley, Elizabeth, Ashton, Melia, Brady, Ross and Alaina and many nieces and nephews.

He co-managed Shamrock Pizza with his father from 1953-1977, worked twenty-five years for the School District of Superior and after retiring worked part-time at Swanstrom Tool where he made many new friends.

He also was a member of Holy Assumption Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the Superior Elks Club.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Golden Living Center and their nurses, caretakers, rehab department, maintenance staff and kitchen staff for the exceptional care and kindness they extended to Bob and his family.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 26, 2009 in the Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior and continue until the 2:00 PM funeral service with Rev. Fr. Ronald Olson of Holy Assumption Catholic Church officiating.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Superior.
