Robert J. Ostazeski

Robert J. Ostazeski, 86, recently returned Superior resident, died peacefully Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN. He was born in Superior Wisconsin February 9, 1934, the son of Stanley and Annette (Majeski) Ostazeski and graduated from Superior East High.

Robert was united in marriage to Colleen Meredith June 22, 1957 and they celebrated fifty-two years of marriage before her passing in 2010.

Robert earned his Bachelor’s degree in education from UW-Superior and his Master’s degree from UMD.  Over the years he was a principal at Carlton HS, Thief River HS and Ely HS before retiring as a high school principal in the Lakeland School District in Minocqua, WI. He was an active Rotarian for many years and was an avid Packer fan.  He loved to hunt and fish, and especially enjoyed traveling and camping with family.

He is survived by his sons Mike (Terry) Ostazeski, Morton, IL, and Jim (Kathi) Ostazeski, Brule, WI; grandchildren, Sam Ostazeski, Brule, WI, and Katie Ostazeski, Austin, TX; brother, Stanley Ostazeski, Tucson, AZ; sister, Gloria Murphy, Iron River, WI; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Colleen; and brother, David Ostazeski.

Due to the pandemic, services for Robert will be held at a later date.
