Robert Sitek

May 18, 1940 — December 6, 2015

Robert “Bob” Sitek, age 75, died on Sunday evening, at Villa-Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on May 18, 1940 in Superior to Louis and Virginia (Anderson) Sitek.

He attended Cathedral School from which he graduated in 1958.
Bob served in the United States Army during the time of the Berlin Crisis.

He attended the Toledo, OH School of Meat Cutting followed by 20 years as a Market Manager for Red Owl Stores. He became a partner in Super Town Foods where he specialized in his homemade sausages, hot beefs and coney sauce.

He was diagnosed with cancer in 1990 at which time he retired.

Bob married Mary Margaret Warner on May 23, 1964 and recently celebrated 51 years of marriage.

He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, the Douglas County Fish and Game League and he enjoyed fishing. His favorite places to be to relax were at the family cabin on Hunter’s Lake, the Brule River and Lake Superior.

Bob and Mary Margaret became parents of three daughters, Mary Jo (Wayne) Hanson, Eau Claire, WI, Robin (Paul) McKay, Superior, Susan (Steve) Vogt, Superior; they are blessed with three grandchildren, Emmali Hanson, Eau Claire, WI, Megan Hanson, Eau Claire, WI, Amelia Vogt, Superior; two brothers, John Sitek, Hinckley, MN, Thomas Sitek, Superior and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Edward.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. James Tobolski as celebrant.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM followed by the Liturgy at 11:00 AM.

Private family burial will take place in St. Francis Cemetery.

Bob’s family wishes to thank the Villa-Marina staff for their wonderful care as well as their many kindnesses to them all.
