Roberta M. "Berta" Buelteman

Roberta M. “Berta” Buelteman, 80, longtime resident of Superior, died Monday, December 3, 2018 at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth, MN, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Royal Oak, Michigan, December 18, 1937, the daughter of Harry and Hilda (Ihrke) Butler.

Berta graduated from Redford High School in 1957. She married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Buelteman on April 23, 1960 and they celebrated fifty-eight years of marriage before her passing. Berta enjoyed a life raising her four children and being a homemaker for her family. She also enjoyed knitting, sewing, playing cards and camping.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Buelteman, Superior; daughters, Patty (Joe) VanLandschoot, St. Francis, MN and JoAnn (Dan Bolding) Buelteman, Niagra, WI; sons, Douglas Buelteman and William “Bill” (Becky) Buelteman, both of Superior; five grandchildren, Patrick, Alyssa (Daniel) Tolbert, Brett, Crystal and Tori; two great-granddaughters, Aubrey and Harper; two brothers, Larry (Judy) Butler, Sand Lake, MI and Jim (Betty) Butler, Holiday, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

Berta was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church, 1111 Belknap Street, Superior, and will continue until the 11:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the hospice team at Essentia Health Hospice and Solvay Hospice House. “We are grateful for the comfort and care they provided through this final journey.”
