Roger A. Dittbrender

Roger Arthur Dittbrender, 85, longtime resident of Superior, WI died peacefully on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at Essentia Health in Duluth, MN, with his loving wife by his side following his courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Wausau, WI on April 30, 1938, the son of John and Marion (Prahl) Dittbrender.

Roger graduated from D.C. Everest High School.  He grew up with a love of farming and worked in the road construction and concrete industry for many years.  Later he went on to work for Halvor Lines Trucking for over 30 years. He also joined the Marine Corp Reserve and spent many years serving his county honorably.

Roger was an avid outdoors man who loved camping and gardening. He also enjoyed music, but above all, Roger loved being with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Roger is survived by his wife, Donna; two daughters, Michelle (Lionel) Brounts, Fort Wayne, ID and Deborah L. (Joshua) Klein of West Fargo, ND; three sons, David L. (Andrea) Dittbrender of Bennett, WI, Brian S. (Tammy) Dittbrender of Superior, WI, and Mark G. (Melissa) Dittbrender of Sheboygen, WI; grandchildren, Bode, Abigail, Gabrielle, Isabelle, Reed, Anders, Brandee, Nicole, Zachary, Nicolas, Andrew, and Alexis; three brothers, John H. “Sport” Dittbrender, Raymond “Petey” Dittbrender, and Theodore “Teddy” Dittbrender; three sisters, Janet Falkowski, Linda Ostroski, and June Dittbrender.

He is preceded in death by his parents John and Marion (Prahl) Dittbrender and brother, Gary Dittbrender.

A Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Christ Lutheran Church, 320 N. 28th St. in Superior, and will continue until the Memorial Service at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Kirk Schield officiating, followed by a luncheon at the church.

Burial will held at St. Johns Cemetery in Wausau, WI at a later date.
