Roger Kaarto

Roger W. Kaarto, 83, Superior, died Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the Middle River Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born on December 3, 1929 in Poplar, WI to William and Margaret (Roger) Kaart.

Roger is survived by three daughters, Renee Wright, Hemet, CA, Lynn (Ron) Lancaster, Superior, Karen Nelson, Renville, MN; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia on January 29, 2009; a grandson, William Shelton; his parents, William Kaarto Margaret (Kaarto) Johnson and two sisters, Marjorie Kaarto and Ilene Peterson.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM until the 2:00 PM Memorial Service on Saturday, June 7, 2014 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5th St. with Jim McCusker, lay minister at Darrow Road Church, officiating.

Burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery at a later date.
