Roger Frederick Pearson died at home of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis on July 5, 2017 at 83. He was born to Frederick and Myrna Pearson on July 10, 1933, and was a lifelong Superior resident and Billings Parker. He attended Cooper School and Central High School and was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church.
He was a carman on the Soo Line Railroad for 25 years and enjoyed summers at the family cabin at Lake Nebagamon. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, woodworker, and reader. Roger was a handyman who liked to say he could fix anything but a broken heart.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Donna (Pananen) Pearson, his daughter, Ann (David) Kjaer and his granddaughters Savannah and Isabel Kjaer, St. Louis Park, MN; his son, Erik (Diana) Pearson, St. Paul, MN; sister, Arlene Olson, Detroit Lakes, MN; brother, David Pearson, Livermore, CA; sisters-in-law, Delores Pananen, Superior, Arlene Franzen, Superior, and Linda (Lowell) Schultz, Marshfield, WI; brothers-in-law, Erland (Loretta Pananen, North Pole, AK, Cliff (Jackie) Pananen, Salcha, AK, James (Dorothy) Pananen, Rochester, MN, Albert Pananen, Superior, Donald Pananen, Lantana, FL; several nieces and nephews, and his loyal dog, Wilson.
Per Roger’s request there will be no public services or visitation.
The Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 East 5th Street, Superior, is assisting the family with arrangements.
