Roger A. Salomaki, 74, longtime resident of Lake Nebagamon, WI, died peacefully, Monday, January 24, 2022, at home with his loving wife and family by his side. He was born in Superior, WI on September 6, 1947, the son of Hugo and Evelyn (Johnson) Salomaki.
Roger was united in marriage to Bonnie Ronkainen on October 30, 1971, and they recently celebrated fifty years of marriage before his passing.
Roger was an avid outdoorsman and had a special love for the outdoors. Together, with his wife Bonnie, he owned and operated Brule River Canoe Rental for many years. In his spare time, Roger especially enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and 4-wheeling. Above all, Roger was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and will be dearly missed by all!
Roger is survived by his beloved wife, Bonnie Salomaki, Lake Nebagamon, WI; children, Shannon (Juanita) Salomaki, Lake Nebagamon, WI; and Kimberly Salomaki, Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren, Jenna, Makyla, and Lariah; and sisters, Signa (Chuck) Groves, and Sandy (Richard) Anderson.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister.
A Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 PM, Sunday, January 30, 2022, at Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5 th Street, Superior.
Visitation will resume at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 31, 2022, at First Presbyterian Church, 6880 S. 1 st Ave West, Lake Nebagamon, WI, and will continue until the 12:00 PM Memorial Service with Pastor Leslie Anderson officiating.
