Roiann T. Dunning

RoiAnn Teresa Ackerson Dunning passed away in Duluth, MN on Sunday, June 18, 2023. She was born the daughter of Roy L. and Janice C. (Hunter) Ackerson on December 20, 1969.

RoiAnn expressed her creative side working on drawings or writing stories. But that didn’t stop her from traveling when she could. She liked to gamble a bit, and always was really excited when she won.  Jesus Christ was her constant companion, and she renewed her faith reading the bible. She was a loving person and enjoyed making new friends. Most of all, she loved her family, adored her grandchildren, and always wanted the best for all of them. She will be dearly missed.

RoiAnn is survived by her children, Amber Lynn Ackerson, Justin Dunning, and Andrew Dunning; five grandchildren; sisters, Tia M. (Roger) Hankins and Jenny Sue (Dan) Ackerson; brothers, Roy M. (April) Ackerson, David L. Ackerson, and Dominic S. (Maria) Ackerson; husband Eladio Diaz and ex-husband Paul Dunning.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Ethel M. Hunter and William L. Hunter, Sr.; aunt, Dea M. Hunter; uncle, William L. Hunter, Jr. and brother-in-law, Luke E. Love; and cousin, Steven Learn.

A Celebration of Life for RoiAnn will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023 from 2:00-6:00 PM at the Superior Curling Club, Head of the Lakes Fairground, 4700 Tower Avenue in Superior and Service of Remembrance at 5:00 PM with Jack Swonger officiating.
