Ronald I. Brown

Ronald I. Brown, 72, Solon Springs, WI resident, died Friday, September 1, 2017 at Villa Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center in Superior. He was on born July 31, 1945 in Superior, WI to Horace and Betty (Peterson) Brown.

He graduated from Central High School and went on to receive his degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Ronald was a teacher for the Superior School District for many years. He previously worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad.

He married Mary Hucovski on June 18, 1966 in Superior, WI and they recently celebrated fifty-one years of marriage.

Ronald was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends especially his grandchildren. Ronald also loved volunteering with the Special Olympics and having morning coffee with the guys. He was an avid Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers and Milwaukee Brewers fan.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Mary; one daughter, Eileen (Tony) Amys, Superior, WI; one son, Scott (Paula) Brown, Duluth, MN; seven grandchildren, Brittany Brown, Superior, WI, Zachary Brown, Duluth, MN, Logan (Samantha) Amys, Franklin, WI, Jade Amys, Superior, WI, Brady Brown, Milwaukee, WI, Haley Brown, Duluth, MN and Arianna Amys, Superior, WI; one great-grandson, Landon Brown; one brother, David (Nadine) Brown, Wrenshall, MN and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM on Sunday, September 10, 2017 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home and continue until the 12:00 PM memorial service with Ron’s son, Pastor Scott Brown officiating.
